Breast Augmentation Procedure

Breast augmentation surgery is the use of breast implants or fat to increase the size of your breasts.

Breast augmentation is performed under general anaesthesia. Before surgery, the proposed implant site and the incision sites are marked on your skin. The point of incision is made in an inconspicuous area so as to minimize visible scarring. These regions include the natural skin fold formed in underside of your breast, underarm or around the areola. The options will be discussed with you, and your surgeon will suggest the best incision site for your desired outcome. A pocket is then made in the breast tissue depending on the type of implant being used. The implant is either placed in front of the pectoral muscle (prepectoral) or behind it (subpectoral). Once the desired look is achieved, the pocket is closed and the incision is sutured. After the surgery, I wil place a surgical bra and binder over the incision. Drain tubes are not used by me except in very exceptional situations.
